Yoga therapy is a subtle, alternative form of therapy, complementary to modern medicine with benefits for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions. It promotes lifestyle changes and positive behaviours that empower a person to make improvement in their physical, emotional and mental health. It is associated with self-efficacy and self-awareness. It functions as a preventative form of therapy and teaches people self-regulatory techniques that allow them to take their health and wellbeing into their own hands. In yoga therapy, we use cognitive based approaches, such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga philosophy and self-awareness to affect physiology. We also apply bottom-up methods, using the body via movement to affect the emotions and mind. Yoga therapy can help you develop a deeper inner sense of strength and stability, promoting regulation and resilience. It can support you in overcoming difficulties in life and improve the quality of your physical and mental health.

About Katie Crosse

With 20 years of study and practice with teachers such as Steve Harrison at the Yoga Sanctuary and Heather Mason at the Minded institute this passion has grown into a deep recognition of the power of modern yoga, both as a practice to restore and balance the body and mind, and as a therapeutic tool to alleviate physical and mental health conditions.

I hope to pass this long lineage of knowledge on to yoga students and therapy clients.

The instruction was perfect and the food just spot on. I have just told my sister about it and she may be coming next time you are in Awbridge..I certainly will!
